Iosif Andriasov: "The Street Song", Op. 10 for Bass and Piano Music Score.

In 1958, Iosif Andriasov composed the Romance “The Street Song” for Bass and Piano, poetry by Vagan Terian. It was premiered at the Malyi Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Moscow, USSR, in 1959. In 1992, Iosif Andriasov made a final revision of this Romance and dedicated it to Marta Andriasova (Marina Kudryashova), his wife. I. Andriasov considered “The Street Song” one of his best and most beloved compositions.

“Бродячий певец у меня под окном      “A wandering singer is under my window
Singing a downhearted song before slumber.

Was it in this song I lived as a boy?

As if I shaped this song myself,
As if I wept in this song myself,
As if I was waiting for you with this song.”

From the book: “Essays on the Music of Iosif Andriasov.”
Written by Marta Andriasova (Marina Kudryashova).
